Its amazing how quickly 12 months can go by, especially when it's the first year of a new business venture. We're taking this opportunity to reflect on what we have accomplished but more importantly to plan for 2016. Here are a few things that happened in the last 12 months at Karridale Cottages and Hop Farm: changed our name to Karridale Cottages and Hop Farm to reflect our new addition - the hop yard constructed and planted the first phase of our three phase hop yard update
We recently planted over 300 native seedlings in support of National Tree Planting Day. The planting is part of our revegetation program to improve the local biodiversity of our bush property. We planted a range of native plants including banksias, eucalyptus, Karri's, Tea Trees and Bottlebrush. To give our new plantings the best chances of survival we also used seedling bags to protect the young plants from native wildlife, wind and any unsuspecting walkers enjoying our bea
As proud new owners of 'The Cottages' we're making some big changes to ensure your stay is a memorable one. As our new name alludes to, one of the biggest changes on the horizon is a Hop Farm. This winter we'll be constructing the hop yard in anticipation of a spring planting of eclectic hop varieties. We hope to have our first hop harvest in late summer 2016.
